guard from the Boulder Fire Department opened the 6th Annual Mitigation & Wildfire Conference
with the theme, |

An excellent opportunity for planners, elected officials, emergency managers, and firefighters to get to know one another. |

The Fiddlin' Foresters provided a delightful evening of entertainment with their "Fire on the Mountain" show. |

Some of the parking lot demonstrations were downright exciting. This is one of a vendor showing how shingles treated with his product (low flames on the far left) compared to those untreated or factory-treated. Another vendor used his foam product to douse the flames. |

Lunches were provided during the three-day conference and concluded with addresses from keynote speakers. |
|
|
|
On Sunday, the last day of the conference, folks teamed up for demonstrations and tours detailing mitigation work being done to reduce risk of fire, vegetation management efforts, and rehabilitation projects in burn areas. Additionally, a strike team exercise showed several phases of engine dispatch, strategy and tactics, communications and home triage in wildland firefighting. |
